I’m not as consistent with my reading and I didn’t want to skip yet another week without summarising a book. Do Epic Shit by Ankur Warikoo was always on my mind thanks to the countless Youtube Ads I had to endure.

I have done something epic and brought Youtube Premium as a result and that’s one of the best purchases I have ever made. Now I no longer receive ads from Warikoo telling me how to manage my time, speak effectively, or Startup.

Who is Ankur Warikoo?

Ankur Warikoo is an entrepreneur, teacher, content creator, public speaker and mentor, based out of India. In 2021 published his first book Do Epic Shit.

I know Ankur Warikoo receives a lot of flak on Social Media and get’s referred to as the Desi Garyvee. I personally couldn’t stand him too which is why I brought Youtube Premium but is he as bad as he’s made to be? You be the judge but here’s my take on it.

He is influencing the minds of young individuals in a great way to openly talk about money and entrepreneurship while peddling his courses along the way.

I find him to be very pretentious because he fits in the keyword Entrepreneur whenever he get’s the chance to. I know Entreprenuership is not easy but he didn’t really reinvent the wheel did he?

He was the cofounder of Nearbuy which he later sold. He took an idea from the US and brought it to the Indian Market. The obvious response to this is going to be if it’s so easy why don’t you do it.

The answer is I can’t because I haven’t brought his course Complete Guide to starting up instead I brought Youtube Premium.

Do Epic Shit

Why is the book named Do Epic Shit? No one knows and I have no idea but I think he is trying to go down the Mark Manson road and hit it big.

But Anyways Do Epic Shit is all over the place. It has no beginning, middle, or end. It was intended to be that way. You should be able to pick up the book turn to any page and start reading because there is no flow to it.

If you follow his content on Youtube or follow him on social media then there’s nothing new here. It just feels like a lot of his Twitter threads and LinkedIn posts are compiled into a book that I have already read.

The book is a collection of his learnings, stories, and philosophies. The book talks about the importance of habits, moving from the level of awareness to self-awareness, how money and relationships are intertwined, and how failure is a necessary step to success.

Warikoo is looking at his life through a lens and shares his ups and downs that he had along the way. The book is written in a very simple language, so it is an easy read.
