The Millionaire Fastlane is a book that has honestly opened my eyes and showed me the system that we live in. The systems that are created by society which are deliberately designed to enslave the modern man.

There is another choice out there and the game you are playing is rigged. If you want out continue reading The Fastlane Millionaire Summary.

Wealth in a wheelchair

M.J DeMarco was broke, depressed, and living on his mum’s couch at 26 but at 31 he was a millionaire.

How did he do this? How did he turn his life around so quickly?

He didn’t buy the traditional lie which sounds something like this.

The Slow lane

Go to school, get good grades, graduate, get a good job, save 10%, invest in the stock market, and then, someday, when you are, 65 years old with grey hair you might be rich.

He wanted to be rich and he wanted it now. Time is of the essence if you want to be a Fastlane millionaire.

Don’t sell your soul for 40 years in a job you hate for Monday through Friday and when you are finally in a wheelchair you can start having fun that is if you still have your faculties intact.

This is the slow lane that Society has programmed you to do. The slow lane is good for most people who are not capable of handling the Fastlane.

The Fastlane

The Fastlane is all about providing value. The more value you provide to the world the richer you will become.

Everything starts with solving a problem. If you find genuine solutions to problems that people have and if you can scale it with efficient systems and processes then you can be financially free.

Don’t engage in mindless consumerism. Be a creator in the digital world and develop yourself into a person who is capable of providing true value.

Stop blaming anyone else for the position that you are in start taking responsibility today and get yourself out of the slow lane.

Don’t sell your life in the form of time in the slow lane. The returns are astronomical in the Fastlane and the benefits are endless.

You need to spend more time investing in yourself and less time on Netflix.

Wealth is not a road but a road trip

Wealth is a process, not an event. Ask any chef and they will confirm that the perfect dish is a series of ingredients and a well-engineered process of execution.

M.J. DeMarco was a fat lazy kid and a chance encounter with a person who owned a Lambhorgini changed his life. One day an ice cream truck pulled up near his house and he decided to go for ice cream.

When he was digging into his icecram he saw a Lamborghini Countach his favourite car drive toward him. He envisioned the owner to be an old guy in his late 60’s with little to no hair in fact it was quite the opposite.

The owner was actually a young guy in his early 20’s dismissing the millionaire outlook. Little M.J. DeMarco asked him what he did for a living to which he replied he was an inventor.

This got the ball rolling and led to the birth of The Fastlane.

M.J. DeMarco did a lot of odd jobs in order to make it big with a lot of failures and a few successes along the way he became a Millionaire at 31 but don’t forget he was broke at 26.

He invested in himself taught himself programming and built a company of 20-30 people and sold it during the dot com bubble.

“All events of wealth are precluded by process, a backstory of trial, risk, hard work, and sacrifice. If you try to skip process, you’ll never experience events.”

M.J. DeMarco, The Millionaire Fastlane

Everyone wants the prize without enduring the process. The Media only shows the end result but they don’t show the effort put behind the scenes to get there.

The event is lauded and showcased for all to admire. Sidelined is the process—you didn’t hear about the long hours of coding the founder had to endure.

The risk of the slow lane is you are putting your putting your future in the hands of something you can’t control like your boss, company, stock market as opposed to your business.

Ask yourself is life leading you or are you leading life?

Poorness: The Sidewalk

There are 3 financial paths the sidewalk, slowlane and fastlane.

  • The Sidewalk >— Poorness
  • The Slowlane >— Mediocrity
  • The Fastlane >— Wealth

Sidewalkers are carelessly trapped in a “Lifestyle Servitude” fed by an urgent, insatiable need for pleasure, image, and instant gratification.

Sidewalkers are constantly chasing jobs, have no money control and live like there is no tomorrow. They have no goals and ambitions and basically live paycheck to paycheck and are 1 step away from poverty.

Wealth for the sidewalkers = Income + Debt

Mediocrity: The Slowlane Roadmap

The people in the slowlane follow the traditional path of go to school, get a job, invest and you’ll get to be rich just before you are dead.

“Get Rich Slow” criminally asks you to trade your freedom for freedom.

People belonging to the slow lane typically have a fortune 500 employer save money and are tensed of the future. They trade time for money and hope for a comfortable retirement at 65.

The slowlane is time bound and the chances of burning out here is quite high. You can’t get rich from your job. A job and a stock market is the worst equation anyone can attach themselves to.

Trading 5 days a week for a 2 days return has a negative ROI.

The Slowlaners equate Wealth = Job+Market investments or Job = Yearly Salary

Wealth: The Fastlane Roadmap

What “Get Rich Slow” does in 50 years, the Fastlane shortcut does in five. Welcome to the fastlane roadmap.

If you are saying that not everyone can make it in the fastlane then you have already resigned yourself into mediocrity. Invest your time to make money and later invest that money to leverage your time.

Do what you love and you will never work a day in your life is very true but no one’s buying and no one’s hiring.

People belonging to the fastlane own a business. They add value to people by solving problems with stramlined systems and processes like Jeff Bezos and Bill gates for example.

If you do what you have always done you will get what you have always got. If you don’t play you can’t win. You need to have delusions of grandeur in life if you want to make it in the fastlane.

Everything starts with solving a problem. Find genuine problems that people have and find a solution to those problems. There are so many options today and it’s there for the taking if you put the work in. Just commit to it and start today.

The Fastlaners equate wealth = Market investments that compound over time.

Today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday.

The Roads to Wealth

The Fastlane Millionaire has 5 commandments and they are CENTS for short because they make sense.

  • C: Control – Is the business 100% yours? Your business should not lie in the hands of google or any other 3rd party for that matter. An algorithm update shouldn’t bring your business down. Any MLM or affiliate programs belong here. If you are not in control of your business then someone else is.
  • E: Entry – How easy or how difficult is the barrier of entry to your business.
  • N: Need – What problem are you solving here? Solve a need.
  • T: Time – Can your business run without you? Create a business system and be able to break free from this system. Your presence should not be required. Money is not king, time is.
  • S Scale -Can your business be replicated and scaled with ease? The law of affection comes into picture here. How much value do you provide (magnitude) and how many do you affect? (scale)

The Millionaire Fastlane Summary

I think the system is rigged and we are all slaves to the system and it’s starting to make sense to me now. I’m glad I found The Fastlane Millionaire at 23 and I hope to escape the matrix soon.

It all starts with school if you know what I mean. School is the simulation of what’s going to happen to the rest of your life if you let it. Monday to Friday you are going to a place and doing something you really don’t want to do and you get the weekend for your self.

I’m not saying school is bad or anything but it just teaches you a little of language and math and they don’t show the whole picture. You need to question everything and see what’s in it for you.

The Millionaire Fastlane Summary

A Business is not something you try but it’s something you live. Take a swing and see how it goes.

The Fastlane Millionaire was published in 2011. M.J. DeMarco says the system is rigged for your lifetime enslavement and there is a way out. The book is over 300 pages long and the tone might seem harsh but it’s very direct.

He doesn’t mean to offend anyone with his choice of words anywayswhat do you think of The Fastlane Millionaire and which lane do you belong to?
